Sunrise on Lottit Lake in North Western, Ontario, Canada Sadly, Canadian artist Ken Danby passed away today. Ken Danby, recognized as one of the world's foremost realist artists and best-known in Canada for his iconic hockey painting, "At The Crease," has died at the age of 67 while canoeing in Algonquin Park in Ontario. From the first time that I saw at the crease it has stayed with me like a personal memory. In that frozen moment he captured the feeling of what Canada is. 27 Sep 2007 11:46pm @JoeB: "At the Crease" is one of Ken Danby's best selling prints by far I think. I seem to remember it was in just about every TV room and rec room during hockey season. He will be sadly missed form the arts community. |
