Sadly, Canadian artist Ken Danby passed away today. Ken Danby, recognized as one of the world's foremost realist artists and best-known in Canada for his iconic hockey painting, "At The Crease," has died at the age of 67 while canoeing in Algonquin Park in Ontario.

Canada has great realist painters and Ken Danby was one of the best. From the first time that I saw at the crease it has stayed with me like a personal memory. In that frozen moment he captured the feeling of what Canada is.

@JoeB: "At the Crease" is one of Ken Danby's best selling prints by far I think. I seem to remember it was in just about every TV room and rec room during hockey season. He will be sadly missed form the arts community.
